Please help I have just got my compost bin delivered today ,but I dont have a clue where to put it.I received a small booklet with it saying to choose a location out of excess sunlight and sheltered from wind ,but the only place I can stand it has sun mostly all day,It also says I need 6in of branches or twigs for the bottom of the bin which I dont have so I will need to go around picking up any I find outside Hope my neighbours dont see me :D

Mine was in full sun and howling gales all last year Tricia and it made some lovely compost. You just have to make sure that you water it, little and often when it's really hot. I didn't put twigs in the bottom of mine though??? I just layered mine up with clippings, grass, turf, paper, loo roll innards and as much veggie peelings as I could muster
I just bunged mine on a dug-over patch of the border, layered it,watered it, mixed up the contents and got far too preoccupied with it that first year!!!! :D
I did stop short of giving all the bugs that moved in names though...but only just!!! :D :D
