    Start of rant.

Some of you may remember that our, not so Darling, Chancellor took away the lower (10%) tax rate and supposedly replaced it by reducing the 22% rate to 20%.

In his great wisdom he didn't realise that this helped higher income earners and penalised lower earners. :dh: :dh:

When a great fuss was kicked up in the media and in parliament he did the usual U-turn and said he would compensate the lower earners :thmb:. About four and a half million lower earners were disadvantaged by this  so he came up with the bright idea  of increasing personal allowances to compensate.

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to realise (he says) that this only compensated a third of them. When it was pointed out to him that there were still 3 million people with incomes between £7,000 and £15,000 that were still out of pocket he said he would make further adjustments.

Has he done it? Like **** he has!!!!!

Come on old Darling - get your finger out! Us pensioners aren't going to let you forget us.

    End of rant.

Shiney - by his own admission he has just saved the world - do you really think he has got the time or the inclination to save individual people, like us, as well. :D
