The one that's nagging at me at the moment, cleaning my ovens. I hate to admit it, I've been putting it off for some while now, I really must do it.

I used to polish floors 'til I could see my face in them. I now trail a finger along the dressing table to see how high the fluff can reach before it topples over. AND I DON'T GIVE A MONKEYS. yep, I have to admit - I hate dusting!!

          What's that?

I used to iron when I was a 'young man about town'. Believe it or not, I was never a chav or anything like that. I took longer than a woman to getting ready for an important night out. I'd spend a minimum of one hour per boot polishing my DM boots, until you could literally see your face in them. Then I'd iron razor sharp lines into my trousers, and then I'd spend about half an hour ironing a nice shirt in meticulous detail. I even used plain, unscented soap to keep the collar as crisp as a very crisp thing.

It all served its purpose. I had success with the ladies, and ultimately married one. Now there's no longer any need to go to such lengths.

Don't get me wrong, I can still dress quite dapper when I have to, but I've mastered the shortcuts now. Replace the 100% natural fibre trousers with 80/20 cotton/polyester and hang them right as they dry. In formal settings always wear a suit jacket or a nice formal jumper over the shirt, then you only have to iron the collar and cuffs:)

I always ended up with more wrinkles than I started with so I gave up. I don't even OWN an iron now!

I hate all of it ... why is it down to the woman to do the dirty work ... we did not create it so why should we clean it ... ?

Probably not what you want to hear  but the one thing my mother taught me was: it is far easier to clean out a warm oven, than a cold one. Give a warm oven a wipe down with a mix of bicarb and warm water after each use and it does make things much, much easier and less of a chore.

Alternatively, there are companies which specialise in over cleaning!

I hate ironing too, luckily Mrs JWK loves it and even used to iron my socks until the kids came along and she had more 'pressing' chores to do.

"hate" is maybe too strong of a word. Anything which keeps the place presentable is welcome really.
The household jobs that I mostly dislike are those where a considerable amount of stretching or bending is required.
Unlike most housewives I don't have a scheduled day to do the cleaning, I prefer to do it "as I go along".
But honestly household chores have never been my strong point - as my half Icelandic apple didn't fail to point out.

The washing up. It comes along with depressing regularity, and just gets in me way.

I don't mind ironing, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the cooker, hoovering, actually quite like ironing. nah it's the damn washing up I can't stand!
