Hi all, have spent the past 20 minutes trying to remember my knot and have failed!

I am trying to tie this small lightweight greenhouse to the fence. Which knot should i use?

I always use a Gordian knot, as shown below , it does take a little practice
Sorry phil I can only tie the over and under knot. I could tie , in my cub-scout days... a reef knot and a bow-hitch....

I don’t know which is simpler - the water knot or the gordian knot!

I hope to be able to pull the greenhouse tight to the fence with the rope, then tie a knot while still keeping tension.

I'd use the Lorry Driver's knot (aka Trucker's Hitch), but you need a chunky rope for that to work properly, thin string won't tighten/grip properly . I don't know any other sort of knot that you can tighten (and also easily undo later).

If you use the thin nylon string (very tough) it doesn't matter what knot you use as you can easily cut it off when you no longer need it. That's what I use for my 'blowaways'. :dbgrtmb:

It lasts a year without being affected by the weather. After that it's better to renew it. As it only cost a small amount for a whole ball of the string it doesn't matter.
