I had 3 free passion flowers but my greenhouse blew over and the name tags came out the pots so I have the names I just don't know which is which.

    The names are:

    passiflora x violacea
    passiflora caerulea 'constance elliott'
    passiflora caerulea

    The pictures:

Can anyone help match them up?
    Thanks

LMRR, until they flower, I think it is just about impossible to identify them. Keep the labels, and try again when they are in flower.:thumb::)

I agree with the above: foliageis variable and confusing even within the very same specimen. Once the bloom it should be relatively easy. I don't know how distinctive the "costance Eliot" cultivar is, but we can always look it up when you have flowers to compare :).

As far as I know "contance elliot" is a sport of cerulea, or atleast a seedling, so it looks very similar until it flowers, which are white.

Violacea is probably not as hardy as the other two so may need a bit more care.

Could that possibly be the smallest one?
    Who knows.

    Evening LMRR ...

I currently have Victoria, Violacea, Caerulea (the curse of Passifloras), Alata and an 'unknown' shocking pink/red and in the past have had Pinnatistipula and Edulis ... and I must admit I cannot tell them apart by their leaves although I think Alata and Edulis have larger leaves.

    Constance Elliot is a hybrid.

I agree I think flowering will reveal their true identities .... :)

LOL, sounds like you have some amazing passionflowers there. Never heard of a red variety.

LMRR sorry, sounds like you'll just have to wait until they flower. Does the colour matter where you want to plant them?

Hi Aaron, not sure I've welcomed you to GC but forgive me if I haven't. :)

There are myriads of Passion Flowers and many reds. Here is a good link ....

Many could possibly do well with you. I had a property on the IoW and they did wonderfully there.
