    Hi
I have a new tiny garden with a 6' high trellis dividing the front gravelled area from the rear veg patch. There is a narrow border in front of the trellis with a small pale pink patio rose, a small Bay on the end and the rose 'Hankey Pankey'. I have planted a Russian Vine to cover the trellis but the lower part of the trellis is quite bare. I am intending to remove the vine and plant one or two climbing roses. Any suggestions? I want lots of colour - and scent if possible, and to compliment Hankey Pankey! Thanks. Lyn DSC01635.JPG

I'm sure our resident Rose expert will be along shortly to make some recommendations :blue thumb:

Hanky Panky's colours (orange, crimson, cream) are quite hard to match, but you could try Crown Princess Margareta which is Apricot ...

or Sombreuil Climbing which is a lovely shade of cream ...

According to the DA website both are repeat flowering and have a strong scent.

Thanks to everyone for very informative advice. The white rose looks lovely and would probably compliment Hankey Pankey (wish there was a climbing version!) Perhaps a red rose might be a good addition. I haven't noticed much orange in my HP - it seemed just red and white this Summer, but it is fairly 'young' and has only bloomed for 1 season. [IMG]
I did wonder about Masquerade but I think that probably would clash and I'm not sure how disease resistant it is.
Wiseoldowl - get well soon if you see this!
