I'd vouch for that - despite being surrounded by trees and fences etc - I face SSW and its lovely - though does tend to make the greenhouse a tad hot :D

Yep S or SSW with a dense hedge, wall or fence to protect from those killing easterly winds.

My garden faces south, the only problem is that when I look at it from my house, all I see are the backs of flowers.

If you build a wall or plant a hedge at the bottom of the garden they will turn toward the better light and face the house ;)

Admittedly though - Sunflowers are a problem :D

OK, so I build a 50 foot high wall, and the flowers will face the house?

Can't see me doing that somehow. The garden is over 100 feet long.

You could move the house up to the other end of the garden, Rich. :D

I think I'd give up gardening if it involved that much work.
