For a couple of weeks now I have been taking a glass of whiskey to bed with me, it helps me to sleep and helps to stop me coughing ('orrible cold!!!!) now personally I think the taste of the stuff is foul and I drink it like a medicine, I wondered if the more expensive stuff would be a bit more palatable, I have been drinking cheap blended whiskey, so this morning I bought a bottle of Glenfiddich single malt, it was on offer and I want to try it.
Now the thing is, will I notice any difference? I'm hoping I will as 'orrible cold just refuses to go.:sick0026:

What about adding some Ginger wine to the rough stuff, Val, to make a Whisky Mac? They're very warming! On the other hand, we all ought to be recommending that you cut out the booze, eat lots of fresh fruit and veg and get lots of Vitamin C down you:old: It's not very comforting, though, and won't help you sleep  Get well soon!

I put ginger ale in it, goes down a treat then.
Personally I'd not drink it neat, good or bad stuff.

              I tried for years to drink whiskey , then I realised - I don't like it !
Not heard of a whiskey mac for years , now that would be a lovely warming drink for a nightcap Val :dbgrtmb:
2 parts blended whiskey ( supermarket brand will be fine )
              1 part Stones ginger wine

Mmm, I love Stones ginger wine, perfect winter drink. I meant to buy some last time I was over in the UK but I forgot and it's not something they sell locally.

Glenfiddick is a good one pour it over ice very nice or in a hot toddy although a blended type would be better for a hot toddy.
Hope your cold gets better soon Val
