As this year has been rain enough for Noe to start rebuilding is boat once again , the snails and slugs are getting huge , poison and beer trap start not to work anymore, long story made short , looking here and there I found out about white caviar made out snails eggs .......sound disgusting!!!!!!! what about £1800 per kilo?

plus price on the market at the moment is £2.77 for 12 snails
and apparently the demand is high then the production as Japanese and american start to enjoy snails as much as french.
even more funny is the request of land giant snail , sold at an healthy £25 each.

garlic snails is a favourite restaurant dish in south africa as a starter ....

it gets served in a special bowl that has 6 recesses .... a snail is in each recess, and its covered with garlic butter, salt, pepper and grilled till it's cooked

then it's served with slices of fresh brown bread that is dipped in the sauce, and you are given a special fork to eat the cooked snails with

these snails are fed on a diet of herbs such as tyme, etc ....

I've had it many times, and may try the white eggs as I love caviar ... but won't pay those prices though

if you never try, you will never know

there is a lovely starter from Robert de nola` , you really don`t want to know how much will cost you , a soup of broad bean , asparagus , peas , crostini and white caviar ..........to me look more like the gardener revenge dish :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.
But as i`m not rich , i will never understand.

I've had both escargot and caviar but I draw the line there. It turns my stomach just thinking about it. I can't eat raw oysters either.........*shudder*

Yum Yum ... I buy fresh oysters often from tesco (55 pence each)

6 oysters, a bit of cracked black pepper .... a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and 3 drops of tabasco sauce

follow that with an ice cold beer ....

                          heaven
