white moth's

    i am new to gardening and have planted all sorts and one thing is these white moth's keep munching on my brocolli, turnips, cauli's what should i do to stop them

    Hi Johhny & Welcome to GC.. Sounds like the dreaded cabbage white butterfly laying eggs & the caterpillars munching away to me they are abundant at this time of year.. You will see clusters of white or yellow eggs on the leaves as well.. Squish them all, then squish every caterpillar in sight.. I do this at least once daily, twice if possible.. I do not like to spray my veg with anything other than a soap spray so usually spray with that afterwards, but I have to say the regular squishing is the best way my veg are hardly touched.. .. Great pleasure from in getting the little blighters too..!!:hehe: Put yer rubber gloves on if you don't like the thought...!!!! :hehe:

    Next year think about investing in butterfly netting or even better some enviromesh either will keep the blighters off and the latter will keep greenfly and aphids off too.
