It's been bugging me for ages. Google isn't helping. So I decided to turn to you good lot for help.

When I was little, like all little kids, I was made to sing various songs in assembly for the entertainment of the teachers. There was the usual assortment of hymns and the sun has got his hat on and the grandfather clock. Staples of any school assembly.

But there was one I can only remember a bit of. I can remember the gist of the story. As a 4 or 5 year old it always made me cry because it was very sad.

It was about 2 cats that belonged to a witch. The cats had been together since the witch brought them home as tiny kittens. By the end of the song, both cats are very old. Actually that's not quite the end, because being a cruel school as mine was, we were made to continue the song. One of the cats died. The other was so upset it lost the will to go on, and by the end of the song, it too had died.

I seem to recall that the cats were called Suzie and Sukie. In my memory, the title of the song was simply, Suzie and Sukie the Witches cats. But Google yields nothing for any of that.

    Anyone?

Blimey, I can't say I have ever heard such a song - are you sure you didn't have a raving sadist as teacher? If you believed the media, you could be forgiven for thinking that all adults were perverts, rapists, murderers of deviants of some form or other when we were kids

That's a parody of Harry belafonte's banana boat song. Too loud man, too loud.
