I sent a letter today and I wrote the wrong address on the envelope, I meant to send it to number 104 but wrote 102 (which is next door).. I think 102 may be vacant though, though I did send it through recorded delivery, although now I read it they have a habit of shoving it through the letterbox rather than knocking on the door. Is there anything I can do, other than sending a new letter to the correct address?
Send another letter to 102 to tell them to ignore the first letter, then a subsequent one explaining that if they didn't get the actual first letter then to ignore the second letter too as it relates to a letter that they didn't get. Then send a copy of the original letter to 104. Then send another letter to 104 telling them that if by chance they already got the first letter, then to just ignore the second one. Simples.
Stephen when you send something recorded delivery the postman has to knock and raise someone in the household for it to be accepted and signed for. So the chances are it wasn't delivered. I'd give your post office a ring and find out what to do next.
