:mad:My toms are coming on fine, with a lot of them being quite a weight. Unfortunately, whilst I am waiting for them to ripen, something is eating them like there is no tomorrow. What insects are doing this? I cannot remember this happening before.

Is it just slugs or something else?

Without a photo it is difficult to answer but the usual culprits with tomatoes are birds - particularly in very dry weather.

Whoops! I forgot about the danger of ziggy spreading around the country. :hehe:

There's no cure for a rampant ziggy. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

hey guys ive got the same issue, it looks like some of the top little unripe tomatoes have been sliced off, not necessarily nibbled because the ones closest to the stem are untouched (and would surely be the first insects can reach) it looks like someone cut them with scissors to a degree although no one wouldve done that, so im thinking birds? does that sound like a rational culprit?

theyve not touched the ripe ones so im not so bothered but it would be good to know what i can do keep them safe

    thanks

I've had similar problems, so i'm doing what that nice man on Snowbabies thread has said & picking them as they start to ripen & wrapping them in newspaper, working a treat.
