When I open a box of eggs it has - Allergy advice - contains eggs (theres chickens and eggs on the picture on the front of the box), my tuna chunks contain fish! my milk has ....... milk in it. I've even seen on a metal toy - do not eat. I can understand allergy advice being on tins, packets etc for things that are contained in it for example spaghetti loops having gluten, milk and wheat in it, as there is a mixture of ingredients in the recipe and unless you know that some pasta contains wheat you wouldn't know this. Nut allergy warnings, I can understand those too. Tins of tomatoes, kidney beans and some others don't have any allergy advice on them. Is it just me that thinks it's strange to have some of the warnings like the eggs that contain egg, and the milk (complete with picture of a cow on the label) that contains milk. I do tin read as one of my children has an egg allergy so yes they're useful for hidden ingredients, but she knows that eggs actually contain egg! Am I alone in this way of thinking?
I don't think your on your own on this one, they do go to extrems on some things. I'd hope that my eggs do contain egg and my milk contain milk but it's stating the b****y obvious, yes I do understand some of them but it's gone mad.
You are not alone. A case of stating the obvious - they have covered themselves just in case they were bought by someone who didn't know eggs contained eggs If such a person exists may be debatable
