Can someone tell me why I have just ordered another load of perennial plants when I only have a small garden which partner thinks is fit to burst already?

Done that years ago:hapfeet: Hubby kept moaning about the plants flopping over on to it and that if it got much smaller he would only need a pair of scissors to cut it with so one day off he went to work and I dug up the lawn. His face was a picture and he had nothing to moan about. .... well except that he had to get rid of the mower.

Well I do my moms garden ( I don't have one ) and because it was so small, around 18' by 10' we decided to gravel it.

Best idea ever in a small area as now it's full of containers that are planted at different depths , for Spring, Summer, Autum etc

There are containers up against the fences which carry climbers, also a 20'+ conifer which has climbers growing through it.

Also, there are the odd, occasional plants that has been allowed to come up through the gravel.

And, we've put single stem shrubs and standards in the larger containers which then allows for smaller plants around the base.

I'm meant to be concentrating on the house seeing as we've not long moved but due to the nice weather I've been gardening a bit. :mute: I've got this huge expanse of grass that I'm dying to dig up and I'm constantly tempted to order a load of plants as an excuse to get my spade out! :snorky:
