Why do they use sterilized needles for lethal injections? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him? Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Kamikaze means something like 'spirit of the wind'. They didn't set out to die. Think of the cost of to the Japanese to lose a perfectly good plane, and have to train yet another pilot every time someone ran out of ammo during a sortie. The pilots did it because they feared they'd be executed as a disgrace if they failed in their mission, and given a choice between certain death leaving your family ashamed of you, or certain death leaving your family proud of you, its easy to understand why they chose the latter option. EDIT: I should point out that I mean that as trivia. I mean to express no opinion either way. But anyway, back on topic... Why do we say that something that's slow 'runs like a dog'? How many here can run as fast as a dog?
Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their bum when they ask where the bathroom is?
