Just found a few wild bramble plants in the long grass in the middle of our allotment, we got the plot about a month ago and will be getting it rotavated soon but I was just wondering if they will sprout all over the place if they are rotavated into the ground.

Hi Im a newbie gardener too but have been battling with wild bramble shoots for years. think it is best to dig them out and get as much root out as possible intact we are plagued with new growth. It seems to be programmed for total control.they arent hard to dig up but its the interconnections that go deep.

I know just what you mean. I replaced my blackberry with a thornless variety but the thorny one keeps reappearing. Mustn't have got all the roots out! [IMG]

Difficult to dig them out you allways leave bits in better to use a systemic brushwood killer paint it on and let it work back into the root system
