    Hiya

I have a week's holiday in February and am thinking of going to Gran Canaria. Has anyone been at this time of year and are there many early wildflowers in the countryside? As an amateur naturalist, lying on a beach aint my thing. The other canary islands look a bit barren. To here from someone who has been, someone with an interest in plants, would be very useful.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Been there a few times at that time of year, the only flowers in any great numbers that I can remember are Eschscholzia, The California poppy growing on hilltops.

There was also some flowering grasses and lots of spurges?,but that was about all I can remember!

It, like the rest of The Canaries is barren unless someone waters them, not a lot grows wild.

    Cheers!

The northern part of Tenerife (Puerto De La Cruz) isn't barren, it is very lush and green but I don't know what wild flowers would be out in February as I have only been there in August.:)
