Hi everyone. This is my first post here

I planted some grass seeds in my garden where there are several bald patches. I didn't rake the soil like I think I should have so they just sat on top. This was a couple of days ago so I decided to rake them into the soil because I can't see how they'd grow just sitting on the surface. My question is - will the seeds still grow? They've had a good amount of sun and rain over the last couple of days so hopefully they're still healthy

    Responses appreciated

    Welcome to the forum Cab.
    Grass is pretty tough stuff.
It grows in the cracks in the path, in the gravel, under the hedges, in the gutters and anywhere else it chooses to put itself in my garden.
I think your grass will grow. Try and stop it.
If you're worried keep it well watered. A few days is a short time but I think that grass will be along.

you should bury them a bit, seeds tend to grow better slighty buried I think, as long as its not too deep. You'll stop them blowing away too lol.

Hey cab322003 welcome to the forum, even Im a newbie over here.
Try to bury your seeds deep but not so deep, and also keep watering them.

Grass seed takes a while to germinate, just when you think its all dead, you'll see little green shoots coming up.

Saying that, while I was working in Turkey, I watched the lads raking & sprinkling a patch of ground in the compound, 3 days later there was a proper lawn there !

I think the 45 celcius weather helped a bit
