We have this beautiful Rosemary bush in the garden, it was here when we moved in, we can't take it with us but we both love cooking and this Rosemary is used in many of our dishes.
About a week or so I pulled off 6 stems, popped them in a glass on the kitchen window, hoping that I'm successful in getting them to grow. I change the water every other day, taking a closer look yesterday and found that there are roots starting to appear. :blue thumb:
What are their chances of making it?? I can keep them safe in a warm place, even when the time comes to move, but when would you guys & gals pot them??.

There's usually no problem with repotting them once the roots have grown sufficiently. As you appear to have a number of them I would wait a little while and then pot them up at different times to give a better chance.

Also @Warwick lad make sure there is a heal on the end of each stem as they will root quicker if they have.. I always get my cuttings dip the heals in rooting hormone and put straight into cutting compost.. I use John Innes seed and cutting compost myself and have never has a problem and have always put the pots in a bright sheltered spot by the house and come spring there are plenty of signs of new growth..

I’ve noticed that rosemary roots really easiyin water. I’ve used sprigs with cut flowers and surprise surprise when it’s time to discard them I see the rosemary has roots.

Let them grow on until they are strong looking roots, then pot them up in loose compost and keep well watered until established.

Thanks, everyone I really want them to take off as the flavour of the parent bush is just great, so strong.
