With the high winds one of my tomatoe plants got blown over and the main stalk snapped :(

It had loads of good sized green toms on but i have them on the window sill and im hoping they might still go red

Keep them cool and dry and preferably with other ripe fruit. It's also better to leave them on the vine if possible (or is it too late). They should all ripen eventually.

Try putting an over ripe babana with them, it speeds up the ripening!

See my blog report for more info!

take them off of the windowsill, they ripen up better out of direct sunlight, but in a light position.

rightly or wrongly, I put them in brown paper bags to ripen. Is that OK to do?

this time, since I appear to have tons of green tomatoes, I will try ripening them with a ripe banana and a ripe apple. I don't think I could give away any more apple chutney

My Tom's are all green as well. Are we ever going to see the sun again? I can't imagine a brown paper bag will do any harm - should keep that from sweating and rotting in any instance. Any body - please correct me if I am wrong.
