We have a Lexmark X1270 all in one, similar to the one jjordie suggested (but more basic and therefore much cheaper). For a while I was borrowing a laptop with Vista on it (long story) and it worked fine on there (have now retreated back to my old XP laptop...). It does use up ink at a phenomenal rate though.

I have a four year old Lexmark X1100 and am considering updating to the X4945
so I will have to think about it if it drinks a lot! My present one is not too bad on
the ink. It obviously depends on how much it is used  but my son has a Canon,
don't know the model number, and the ink cartridges for that are really expensive.

Re my Canon Scanner, Found a replacement on Amazon bit like the one that died @ £28 post free....the Canon flatbed takes up a small space which is all I have and appears to be Vista compatible had also got decent reviews from people that had bought it,
I do have a perfectly good HP printer which embraced Vista so only needed a scanner but thanks for your help.
Oh the age thing ahaa.... 77 last week :D

My Dad had the same problem.
He got the Epson DX6000 Printer scanner copier.
I think he paid about £50 from Tesco.
He is very pleased with it and it also takes up a lot less room.
    With less wires. [IMG]
    It takes compatable inks.
They are about £10.00 a set but are cheaper the more you buy.
Example 3 sets you can get for about £24.00.
