If you want your W11 to have the Taskbar Icons and the Start Menu appear on the Left of the screen rather than the center , just follow the easy instructions as shown below.
Equally easy to reverse things if you prefer the Center.
It also shows a few other tips.

How to customize your Windows 11 taskbar

Interesting but I tend to just go with what I have mostly regarding layout.

I'm pretty sure if I use the new one for a few weeks and then go back to the old one I'll end up thinking the old one is difficult to use.

I'm with you on that @pete. :) I've got used to mine now and it's taken me about three weeks. I still make the occasional adjustment to the way I prefer to use it, but I've not altered the Windows 11 set up. I think if there's ever a Windows 12 then we'd have to catch up with 11 first to stay on the ball, so to speak.

I had to use my old laptop today to clear a lot of the personal things on it. It not only felt awkward but I wanted to crank it up, it was so slow.

I've had to deactivate OneDrive as it was pestering me about the lack of storage in my free account & urging me to buy more storage all the time. It also wants to manage everything online & I can't access my photos or other documents unless I go through OneDrive. I got fed up with it & stopped it! But I did take time to move all my photos out of OneDrive & put them in my pictures on the computer HDD! As I haven't opened OneDrive any more since then I don't know how it will respond the day I do! It will probably nag me about my photos & documents on OneDrive have been moved or deleted & therefore they will no longer sync!

I've always stored my photo's in folders on the computer @Balc. I feel that's where they are safest and easily accessed.

I've done the same for the last 20 years or so! It's just that anything that's added to the new PC is immediately uploaded to OneDrive! So I've had to shut it down!
