    Seems to be a commonly occurring theme in the local botanic gardens the last few Decembers; nice bright feel good colour. As we approach Christmas without any frost yet, let these flowers brighten up your dark days :-) (sorry this is seriously photo intensive)

        @Anthony Rogers Apologies for jumping in but number 5 looks like Desfontainia spinosa.
        Mine has just flowered for the first time. Originally from Chile.

              @Anthony Rogers I should have mentioned that: it requires lime free/neutral soil and is only hardy down to -5°C. Grows slowly and seems to cope with damp conditions, heavish soil and partial shade

                Lovely photos, don't apologise!

                -8°c is my record so far. I tip my coffee grounds out around it (having backfilled the hole with ericacious soil) and that seems to work.
