    So, I've just completed a contraption for hanging a trio of single pot plants into. I'd quite like to have good old ivy in two of the hangers but all the ivy I have grows up and I'd like some to grow down. The centre hanging space I haven't got a clue what to put in there, so, suggestions would be appreciated, especially if erring on the budget side of friendly. :heehee:

    In short:-

    - which ivy is recommended for "hanging" in a planter to create a pretty cascade;
    - any suggestions (for a single pot) for winter interest in a hanging display

    Thank you :)

      I would think most Ivy's sold in garden centres would be trailing ? The only plant I bother with in winter baskets and containers are Pansies . Then I only plant a dozen or so in late Feb. There must be other plants which would put on a bit of a show though ?

        As well as pansies I tend to go for primulas which are doing very well at the moment during this milder weather.

        Actually mine are in pots, so for your hanging baskets would depend on how high you mount them as pansies etc might not be visible?

          Yep pansies, regular ivy? let it hang over and it does it own thing.. maybe for height you could add a heather? Bought some trailing ones from bnq in Sept . .still going well!

          These are my one pot wonders, first ones not trailing 20161215_131706.jpg
          and the trailing ones

          I also done a hanging basket with left overs and there's no height on it what so ever so it's shoved out the back..

            :ThankYou: @Linz

            I'll have to get imaginative with the climbers and see if I can make them head for Australia :heehee:

              Hi Leila welcome to GC. Where abouts are you from? And do you happen to know what plant you have, is it in a hanging basket?

                I cautiously let Leila in from Kazacstan an hour ago, all he did was flood the board with one liners :th scifD36:
