    Hi all,

Took the plunge and started my own gardening business and really enjoying it.

I've not experienced a winter in this new role though, does anybody have any tips/ideas to help pay the bills over winter (other than putting money aside in the summer).

    Thanks guys

Storm damage tidy up, gutter cleaning, fence repair?

    Mulching and manure application service?

    My fence blew down..

I don't think many people repair their fences in the winter, even if they blow down. People don't go in their gardens much, so an unsightly fence isn't going to bother them much. It's also a worry there could be another storm before the spring that blows it down again.

Thanks for the replies guys. Gutter clearing, leaf clearances seem my best bet I think?

Good luck on finding stuff to do, I normally shut up shop and have the winter off.
Part of the parcel is the income drops in the winter but you never know it may be a mild winter or we will be knee dip in snow which means you might make a bit out of either.
Off to Cornwall again in November if it all goes to plan for a short holiday with my companion.

Planting shrubs, hardy perennials, pruning, mulching, transplanting, tidying lawn edges, bulb planting, etc etc......heck! Een you could be very busy.

I had a spell of doing garden work....landscaping, giving ideas and all the above. Trouble is I did not plan my time very well....often ran over my alloted hours, travel time not properly allowed for, etc. I enjoyed it immensely but the workload was enormous even in the winter time.

Lots of money to be made Een but price things right and watch the time at each client:)

Thanks Verdun. Looks like Porth again rather than Mullion Cove as there’s plenty of pubs and restaurants near by and those lovely beaches for the dogs to run about.
