I'm starting to think about the winter months and having another stab at a start of the year all white garden. Not loads of flowers, just little pockets of bright white. Keeping it simple as the summer planting is quite complicated.

I was thinking of snowdrops, white Fritillaria meleagris, Helleborus niger, white cyclamen coum and tulip green star. Oh, and some peas (Meteor) to give a sweet pea look but with an early veggie harvest :)

Do they all sound reasonable as some small perennial plants for minimum fuss, that don't mind being covered over once the summer plants all start growing up around them?

I do have a Cornus kousa var chinensis and a Philadelphus Mrs E L Robinson but they flower slightly too late in June so I'm considering removing them / giving them away. to be replaced by... something that flowers in early April.

    Any ideas much appreciated! :D

    There's also white crocus Jack.

A few shrubs I've come up with.

Exochorda (I know Armandii and Shiney have this)
    Hebe
    Choisya 'White Dazzler'
    Azalea

There are a lot of winter flowering honeysuckles (don't know the name of ours :noidea:)

I've just quickly grabbed some of my photos. We have other white flowering plants but can't think of them at the moment.

Sarcococca is an easy to grow perennial shrub and has a wonderful scent from tiny white flowers from November to April
