Winter work

I recently lost my job as joiner and the last 3 months of wages with it ,
A job can be found and money can be earned , so I start to work on my own ,
so far so good , I can`t do what I was doing before but can do many other different
things , so far I started with one week and end up in 3 weeks and full booked for the next 4 .....
what`s scary me most is winter , as all the other trader are telling me that summer is fine and busy , but as soon as December is coming there is nothing going on ......many of the other traders have always project set for winter .........
usually buying a house do up and rent it or sell it , but the market is dead as well in that sector and don`t really have money to buy a second house , so need to find some income for winter months ......

anyone is in my same situation ?
