    Got any cloves?
Try one just resting on your tooth
Failing that, a bottle of malt..

My first arrived at 14, I have had them all removed, the dentist just froze it up and yanked it out with pliers (dental I hope not wilkinson sword ones). I felt like I had been whacked up the side of the head with a piece of two by four.

I would definitely start drinking. Failing that a mix of co codamol and ibuprofen might take the edge off.

I was expecting my second child when I was in agony with a wisdom tooth coming through , that would of make me. 29.
I remember it because I couldn't take any pain killers.:(
They gave me some smelly stuff in a bottle to put on it , I think it was the cloves.

Nothing but bad news for you, LMRR - there is little or nothing you can do for dental pain. And in this case, because the pain is being caused by pressure on the bone, even less. Sorry!

But it's my experience that Dental Departments tend not to keep wisdom tooth persons waiting too long for that very reason. And the fact that as the tooth continues to erupt, it's going to make matters worse.

So once you know the letter from your dentist has gone through, there's nothing to stop you ringing the hospital and putting some pressure on. No point in ringing appointments as they have neither the knowledge, the power nor the interest (i.e. sympathy) to do anything about anything. Ringing the secretary of the consultant to whom you have been referred is the best tactic.

oil of clove might help a bit but as it si dental pain, nothing much seems to help.
like Daisees says.....talk sweetly to the consultant's secretary.

If you want to take to drinking red wine for the pain, then I'll be happy to keep you company.

Thanks for the advice Daisees. I'm not sure who I've been referred to but I know it was sent by fax so hopefully it won't take long.

Luckily the pain's either on or off. Mostly off at the mo but when it starts it wips me right out because of my ME. I'd never had toothache until a few years ago but it's gotta be the worse pain.

I went for my initial appt ans x ray yesterday and they said there's a 2 month waiting list so I think I might have to keep hassling them till they get me in. The paracetamol and ibuprofen together seems not to be working anymore :( anyone got a sledgehammer i can knock it out with? :thumb:
