Wish my memory was better!i need another id please

    i subscribe to candis magazine and one of their free gifts last year was a plant..well some root anyway, i planted it and forgot about it, now i have leaves and i really cant remember what it was..watching tv over the weekend im thinking it might be peony, does anyone have a positive id just from the leaves please?

    Gut feeling was also Peony but I'm not sure :dbgrtmb:

    Doesn't look like Peony to me.
    What about Laurel?

    I think it looks like a peony. Same leaf arrangement.

    I see where your coming from gcc but if you look closely you will see that those are not all single leaves but in fact some are joined.

    Maybe a Tree Peony?

    It looks similar to a peony but I am not convinced that it is.

    This leaf is much more complex than Laurel.

    On the 2nd pic highlighted in red, is a leaflet with 3 lobes.
    This is just a small part of a larger leaf.
    Further down the same stem are a pair of leaves opposite to each other... these too have 3 lobes.

    This is all one compound leaflet.

    I believe it is a Paeonia sp . Common name Peony.
    However the leaves of Peony come in all shapes and sizes.
    The nearest image I could find to yours is this.....
    However, this is not a perfect match!
