Am I wasting my time having a Wisteria in a large pot in a windy garden? All I seem to do is trim off wind burnt leaves. Its been with me for a couple of years and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Spring started hopeful as it seemed full of young growth but our garden is like a wind tunnel. Should I give up, give the plant a fair chance and give it to someone where it'll grow?
    :ThankYou:

Which species and variety is it? I've replaced a Foribunda with a Brachybotrys with great success.

The best thing for yours would be to either move it or yes, give it away.

How big is the pot? It does need to be fairly substantial, if it is you shouldn't have a problem.

Hi Elsie, I'm having the same trouble ! I planted a wisteria and a honeysuckle a couple of years ago in very big pots. And like you, there was some lovely growth when we had that warm spell but ever since then they have been getting blown to bits. And as a consequence, any new growth has been destroyed !
I've moved the wisteria somewhere more sheltered. As for the honeysuckle, it has been very windy today and it looks a sorry sight. To move or not to move ? that is the question.
