We have had this Wisteria for about 10 years and it always flowers but this is the first time I have noticed seed pods.

We get lots of those as we've two big wisterias, they usually grow as long as runner bean pods. We've never bothered with them, but one must have self seeded, having fallen off once into our azelea collection near our patio pergola from a big wisteria which has since died. Each year I prune it back to the ground. It'd be a bit of a job to try to dig it out and re-plant it. But maybe I will one day as it'll be a white one (if it ever flowers).

Brilliant Gaz. Its something I have never thought about - but yes I have never had seed pods either - although my Wisteria is very young. I wonder if its a function of the hot weather we had earlier. Whilst some things, like my Sidalcea, have done really badly this year I have noticed how some stuff has done exceptionally well - which I have put down to the weather.

Incidentally, my Wister is currently flowering again for the second time this year! :D

Established wisterias will produce seed pods every year, as well the production of a second bloom. These are always much sparser and a bit long and straggly.
