Wisteria.

Hi folks. I'd like to plant a couple of wisteria's over a pergola, as I did at my last house. Only one thing bothering me though, the ones I had there proved to be VERY vigorous. What I'd like to know is, are there any varieties that are more compact (relatively). Cheers...freddy.

Pruning to keep them under control not an option?

If you are going to grow Wisterias, Freddy, then sharpen your secateurs.:thumb::D

 

The harder you prune it the better it rewards you.

 

Ok fellas, looks like I'll just have to go for it. When the time comes, I'll be looking for advice on pruning. BTW, I prefer the white ones myself. Cheers...freddy.
