    The gorillas at Howletts are great to see and it is lovely to see where they have been put successfully back into the wild.

    I remember one time I was there and a silverback just sat and stared into my eyes for ages. I felt as though he was able to read my whole life through my eyes.

    I absolutely adore gorillas and will one day go to Rwanda and do one of the organised trips into the forest to get as close as possible to a wild silverback :)

    We visited Howletts a while ago. One of the gorillas was clutching her very new baby. She sat in the corner of the enclosure, rocking it gently and holding it up so that all the other gorillas, who had come to take a peek at the new arrival, could get a good look. Spooky!
