Woodland park

A local woodland owned by the Forestry and Fisheries Department here was opened up to the public a few years ago. Below are pictures I took today on a sunny but chilly Sunday afternoon stroll.

This tree fascinates me as the branches are silver grey. I've not visited this park when it's fully leafed or may be even in bloom.

Lovely photos Sheal - like the one of the tree (3rd pic). Looks a nice place for a wander.

 

This building in the park houses the offices of the Forestry and Fisheries Department and is built completely out of ecologically friendly materials.

 

Lovely photos....I'd like to know what that tree is in pic 10. It looks pretty good in the sunshine.

 

Looks very peaceful and quiet, like the Berberis.

 

So would I Fern! I'll have to make regular visits to see if it blooms and get a foliage shot or two. To see it close up puts me in mind of the dwarf cherry 'Kojo-No-Mai' but the branches are quite dense. Either that or see if I can spot a warden there who may be able to tell me.
