My greenhouse seems infested with them. A day after lighting a sulphur candle the first thing I saw was a woodlice. Now I've put the seedlings back and of course the trays are covered with them. Having said all that, the seedlings appear to be doing okay-ish, but don't seem to be thriving very well. Is it the woodlice? Am I right to want to rid my greenhouse of them? Any time now I want to overwinter my potted pelargoniums and fushias and I'd really like them to survive. Any ideas?

Woodlice feed on dead organic mater rather than live plants. I often find them around my patio and occasionally in a container. I don't think they would do any harm.

Thanks for the advice. Although they feed on dead matter I've found them inside trays of seedlings, particularly on the base, and I can't see the seedlings getting on very well with their roots constantly disturbed. I've managed to de-lice most of the seedling trays and have now raised them off the wooden greenhouse racking - so perhaps that will solve the problem.

I tried the link given by Hex (thanks for that) and it seems woodlice do eat living matter.

Walnut - I'd be very interested in importing a couple of toads. How? From where? I've never been on a toad hunt before!!
