    Hi

I noticed something on top of my vine which I think might be woodlouse. Can anybody confirm?

if so, how should I remove it?

    thanks

First of all, there is no woodlouse showing in your photo. This is what a woodlouse looks like

Woodlice do not generally damage plants - they eat dead and decaying material. So may indicate that parts of a plant, or areas of a garden, has dead stems, etc. So no need to remove woodlice, should you see them.

What I can see could be some scale insects. You will often find sticky clear specks on the leaves/surface below, which is called honeydew. If you look at the underside of nearby leaves, you may see some more of these brown “scales”.

If this is the only part of the vine that seems to have these nodules on, you can easily remove them by rubbing them off with your finger, then keeping an eye on the area for the next few weeks, repeating the procedure if necessary.

Thanks. There just like 15 or 20 nodules so I can remove those. Are those harmful for the plant?

Yes, you can just rub them off, and keep an eye in the coming couple of weeks for any you may have missed.
On a healthy plant, they won’t have caused too much problem, especially if you have found them before they get established. Scale insects are more of a problem on houseplants, because of the sticky residue….
