One of my hobbies is woodturning and I am a member of the Register of Professional Turners and am the Assessor for the Scottish area. At one time I had 4 lathes set up in my previous workshop as I used to teach to advanced stage. Since moving to my present location, I have downsized considerably and am now sponsored by Hegner and still teach, but not as many pupils at a time.
Photography is also a passion of mine as is DIY and walking. Not enough hours in one day as my garden needs more than its fair share of time at the moment.
My front garden will be my project for next year. The front is all grass at the moment and is a 40 mtrs x 19 mtrs triangular shape.

The only shrub in there is a 10 yr old Acer I brought from my previous garden it's now 2ft taller than this.

I have taken cuttingd from the ceanothus, the wygelias and the two small azaleas.

The rear garden was sunken by about 3 ft

and I did away with the steps leading down to the garden from the patio doors and formed a decking area which overlooked the garden

The back door was accessed via the side driveway and the gate was beside the garage door. I took the up and over door away and built up the opening to form a 3ft wide workshop door.

The side entry to the back garden/back door was about 10 ft wide so I built a 3ft high wall and left a space 3ft wide for a back gate, then built an arch of diamond criss cross tinber and grew a Montana Alba up this it was very impressive in the late spring.

The last project on this garden was to build a canopy over the back door to stop the rain being driven by the prevailing winds from hitting the back door.

As you can see from this last pic, squirrels were visitors to this garden also.
