I quite like the First Great Western. I saw it in a garden centre yesterday. Lovely colour and a very nice smell too.

Aww just beautiful Woo.. My roses have taken such a bashing in all this wind & rain the blooms have been spoilt, so sad, but my Mum in a Million rose is covered in buds so hoping it won;t be spoilt by the weather. It has a beautiful delicate scent too..

Wow Marley, you can say that again about the weather ! My first attempt at growing roses this year and look at the weather ! I might be able to offer some protection with small fencing but the wind here hits from different directions and even swirls from above, a real assault ! I've lost a couple of branches snapped by the wind, and buds and young flowers are holding so much rain they are practically on the floor.

I'm waiting for Compassion to flower, Woo. It was one of the Roses that you recommended for the side of my Abour and it has several sprays of buds on it.
I'm also waiting for another recommendation of yours in the border to flower which is "Orange and Lemons". That is a late dry root planting but has produced one bud which I await with great anticipation!!:snork:
