Anyone involved or know anything about these?

Think it might be starting in April for me.
I've been looking at the website but cant find out a few things it seems to have the main info missing.

Like how much can I pay in?
If I do, does my employer have to match it?

As far as I can work out its only going to cost my employer £3.87 a week going by the calculator, which is really not worth bothering with.
Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick?

Don't most current pensions use 'salary sacrifice'?

This could be why it costs your employer so little.

It's something like. Your gross salary is reduced, with the amount it's reduced by going into your pension as a tax exempt benefit. Some accounting dark arts are done, so even though your gross salary is lower, your net salary stays the same. So in effect, your contribution and that of your employer comes off the tax bill.

I'm more interested to find out if my employer has to match any amount that I put in.

I've looked through the website regarding the subject but cant seem to find any real detail.

But then I tend to miss things on government sites.

Just read a bit on Salary sacrifice but as to whether I will be worse off it doesn't make clear.
Seems all a bit iffy to me, lots of maybes and perhapses without any definite info.

Thankyou @Jiffy that seems a better explanation than I've come across on the government sites.

So looks like I will be worse off by £50 a month or so, at least.

By the time the pension provider has taken their cut in charges it looks like I will be as usual throwing money down the drain without any real option other than to opt out altogether.

Over the years I've taken out about 6 different pension schemes only to find that each successive government changes the rules and and I end up with it frozen.
I'm getting a bit fed up with it all now, as charges are just eating away at the frozen ones.

And they wonder why nobody bothers???????????????
