I watch the football but I'm selective, so not every game. Not the pre-match build up, nor the post-match inquest. I'm not interested inn anyone else's interpretation of what I've just seen and I make a cup of tea at half-time.

What about all this nonsense about going onto the BBC's website and voting for your favourite player? Who cares who likes who best?
The practice of putting strap-lines of Facebook comments or whatever, is just a waste of time.
I could never understand the obsession of the BBC with social media.

I might watch England, but if they do their usual continual back passing and just messing around I'll turn it off.
I'm yet to see an England team that plays exciting football, they all appear to want to get rid of the ball as fast as they can, usually backwards.
The England goalie seems to have most possession in most England games.

I wouldn't say they played brilliant we missed a few sitters and got the result.

Our ball control was noticeably poor at times, as was our passing.
I could never understand our "etiquette." When you win the ball in midfield, "it's polite to wait until the opposition have got 11 men behind the ball," before you then pass it sideways as there's now no one unmarked ahead of you.
We will probably now get out off the group but are unlikely to progress any further.

There's a reason for all this pre and post match punditry by ex-footballers who are paid a fortune to express their views.

"Talk is cheap," compared with programmes. It's relatively an inexpensive way of padding out the schedules.

The holding by the Tunisians, particularly of Kane in the penalty box, should have earned us a couple of penalties.

                    I enjoyed it.
They always put us through it ,but at least we have the 3 valuable points.
Nobody said it would be easy just ask Germany.

During the last week I have watched a fair bit. That's the beauty of working for yourself and coming and going from home. Some of it I have watched and some of it I have had on while I have been doing other things. I was really looking forward to sitting down and watching this evenings game. We had to go out didn't we? It was my goddaughters birthday and we had to deliver her present. :gaah:

I tried to watch it after on catch up tv but it wasn't available. Now I know the score I'm not too bothered about watching it.

A win is a win. It doesn't have to be pretty. Missing sitters is good. It means we are creating chances. The scoring opportunities will come. It looks like Harry Kane had his correct boots on today. Danny Welbeck waiting in the wings is always good for a couple. We'll done England. You've got one foot in the door.

                      G.

Trouble is, they usually trip over it with the other foot.
1966 seems a long time ago.

210 teams start the world cup qualification process. Who's to say that any one of them has more of a right to win the competition any more than any other?. Somebody will win. The other 209 won't.

There are 195 countries in the world today. This total comprises 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations and 2 countries that are non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine.#
