We'll only win it if luck is on our side. Being good enough to win it isn't enough

Yep, its all been a bit overdone.
Seems like its been going on for ages already.
It would be nice to win, if only to stop them keep harping back to 1966, we were the host country then..........wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I think I could only admit to this here, but I don't know anything about it.

[IMG] Just had an email from a friend who lives in New York and she was amused that we in the UK are thinking England has a chance of winning the World Cup - because everybody knows Brazil will win!!!!

....well, one plus is that the GC was totally EMPTY earlier!!!! YAY!!!! no crowds - loads of space to mooch around.... was pottering up the garden when England scored their goal, and got surround sound cheering!!!! I think the nation have their TV's in their gardens!!!

but on the down side - was woken at 3.30am this morning when a group of around 20 people were walking (or staggering) up the middle of our road to the tunes od "3 Lions", closely followed by a police car, making sure they were not getting into mischief along the way..... goodness knows what they will be doing tonight if we win.... ear plugs, I think....

One down - how many to go before sanity returns?

Not a car passed my house for the whole period.

Well done England - 3 pts, albeit not the most beautiful football the second half. Well I had to see the first game :D - cos it would have been so bad if we lost. Now if it had been rugby!!!!

Do I take it you are not a fan of the sport of gentleman (and indeed gentlewomen) Roders :D

Honeybee - I stood no chance - the first game I went to was when my mother was pregnant - my father played. I had a great time watching, doing teas and first aid - and then there was the social life :D
