    Good day everyone
    It is still very dark here and I will be reading the online papers whilst having my cuppa and before going down to the kitchen to putter and watch my 3 hours of Corrie. On the commercial breaks I shall be bringing in some of the garden hoses and other items that don't like a good freezing. The weather guessers say it's not going down to freezing for about 2 weeks - but I don't trust those guys. :th scifD36:

    I'm going to roast a small turkey in the wood oven while Corrie airs and of course, do other puttering. I never actually sit through the whole show but I do listen to it so I don't miss anything fun :)

            Morning all. Looks like it might be another nice day. I have a full day's work today so I probably won't get out into the garden.

            Tonight I'm taking my wife to the theatre. We are going to watch a musical bio on Alan Turing. It should be good. It's just nice to go out for a change. In fact we going out twice this week. We are like busses. We don't get a night out for ages then two come a long at once.

              We got a lot done in the garden yesterday :blue thumb: and the bonfire heap is quite high. Nice neighbour asked when I shall be lighting it as he has a fair amount to add to it.

              Today I have another funeral to go to (Cancer) :sad: and one on Wednesday (old age and Alzheimers) :sad:

              No sign of the sun yet but I hope to get more work done in the garden.

                        Happy Thanksgiving :) All of the stores are closed today and the roads will be quiet without all the scurrying shoppers.

                        Happy Birthday @shiney . I'm sorry to hear of more of your friends passing. (touching wood here) I haven't had to attend a funeral for a few months and think that's what I shall be thankful for :)

                        My oldest son hosted the meal this year and it was such a treat to not be in the kitchen preparing the food this year. :)

                        I will be working today - going to get lots of serging done in prep for when I grab a new straight stitch tomorrow.

                          Just got back from the funeral. It was a happy celebration of his life and he had organised everything. The church was packed and the eulogies were humorous. The coffin was taken out to the strains of 'Always look on the bright side of life'. :)

                                Not quite such a busy day today. Lots of paperwork and phone calls to sort out this morning.

                                Fortunately we have two loos in the house as one of them has had the pumping mechanism fall apart. So I need to get a plumber to order the parts and then fix it. I have some other jobs for them when they get here.

                                I need to speak to Social Services for Barry and to NSI for Mrs Shiney's brother, whose visiting from Brazil, as he's found some old premium bonds in our loft. They're only £11 and haven't seen the light of day since 1969! :heehee: I've checked that they haven't won anything but we need to get them re-registered at our address and get them to send any future prize money to us. Bureaucracy Here I Come!!! :old: :paladin:

                                Bridge club this afternoon and a meeting this evening (held at a restaurant :thumbsup:).
