I'm off today to view and buy a new machine and then pick up a dozen or so pillow forms o the way back. Then I get to lug the lot up the stairs and assemble. If all goes well, I'll be up and running before the end of the day.

And that's all I'm getting up to today. No time to play.

Got as far as my mates house, but his dog was leaking so had to go to the vets, busted stitches

@shiney that sounds scary. Does your town have the infrastructure to carry that number of residents?

It's still pitch here and I have lots of work to get done today on my new machine so I really don't care much about what the weather is today. I'm out for a sales call later this morning and will do my errands whilst out. Need to pick up fall fertilizer for the lawn and see what other garden items are marked down to clear space for other seasonal items.

An interesting issue has arisen locally. Our local local Primary and Secondary schools are both rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and there is a great demand for housing within the secondary school catchment area.

The secondary school is an Academy and apparently can choose it's catchment area. There is a new development under construction adjacent the school and the Academy have excluded it from its catchment area, meaning residents who'll be living right next to the school will have to be transported to neighbouring secondary schools, the nearest one being rated 'Inadequate' and those further afield 'In need of imrovement'.

So if your local school is an Academy, it appears as if they can potentially frustrate local development by excluding new housing developments sites within their catchment area.

 

I certainly am - my resignation was accepted today (submitted Sunday!) so all my puddles are now drying up
