Well, they do say "as one door closes, another one opens" and so it does.
Yesterday I received a call offering me a job; same line of work, different location. Well, I've never been chased up for a job I've haven't applied to before so it would have been rude not to sound interested I'm going there this afternoon for a chat and a nosey around

@"M" Not that you need it LUvverly lady, they obviously can spot a good un when they heard you were up for grabs!! Hope all goes well and you are as impressed with them as much they will be with you

 

Yes, "Head Hunted" indeed! They offered hours, different to what I was working before (and very favourable in terms of convenience/flexibility) plus a few extra As for the pay, she gave me a pay rise during our informal chat without me even mentioning coinage!
Win-win!

That's the funny thing, Bee ... they didn't *know* I was up for grabs! They wanted me anyway When I mentioned I had very recently submitted my resignation, it was a case of: "Ok, we'll organise it as a transfer and then you don't lose out on time accrued when it comes to annual leave increases".

I can't stop at how spookily timed it is and how it has all worked out. A much, much better *feel* in the atmosphere there, very positive in fact. No sour faces, no stressed huffs and puffs. That is not to say there won't be moments and she was very upfront that it can get quite stressful (which I already know) and which of the staff have the shortest fuses, but, are equally quick to apologise and it is never personal. Overall, it is far more organised and "professional" than the one I've left behind and I can't wait to be a part of their team. Need confirmation of my start date as, technically, I'm still on my notice period. But that is just a minor detail.
