      Good day
It is raining here at the moment and I was delighted to see the water smoothly flowing down the gutters into the rain barrels. I do hope it does clear up in the next few hours as I was planning on taking my sister out to a craft/garden center and a lavender farm before going to a granddaughter's birthday party.

If it doesn't stop raining, we'll leave later and just go to the party.

I'll try to send some our rain over to those who need it. It sure made a difference around here!

Have a cool day and play safe :)

Hi everyone, I guess I am late on parade today, I thought I had already posted earlier.
Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe and well, God bless.:wub2:

          Aloha everyone,

I've been very busy this morning so haven't got around to doing my morning one hour of picking beans. It's drizzling now so shan't bother at the moment.

I'm well overdue for a haircut so shall go into town and get it done. Then I have to go to Barry to sort out some paperwork for him. Apparently he has received some letters and forms about his benefits and the changes to the way benefits are decided and administered. I hope they will be easy to sort out as I'm not in the mood for the DWP to be awkward. I got them to send me a letter of apology last time they got awkward :paladin: :heehee:

It's Barry's birthday so we shall take him out to a pub for lunch. He never goes out for meals (except when we take him out) so it's a good treat for him. I already know what he'll order - sausage and mash with onion gravy followed by spotted Dick. :) I'll let you know if he chooses anything different :rolleyespink:

Keep well and I hope the cooler weather suits you.

          Aloha!

Good morning everyone. Shiney, how old is Barry? I wonder how he is going to cope when you pass on as you do so much for him. You will have to live until you are about 120 years old to make sure you are always around for him. I hope he enjoys his birthday lunch.

Have a good day everyone, it is lovely so much cooler and wonderfully wet! Take care all, stay dry and above all safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

@moyra I think he's around 50 (not sure), but I've been looking out for him since his dad died in 1983.

                Good day,
I am looking at the start of a day with blue skies. The plants out there probably grew a foot overnight, given all of the rain they have been getting. And now sunshine to follow.

My sister and I did get to the nursery and the lavender farm and the birthday party yesterday. The skies lightened up from about 20 minutes into our drive until after we got home. Very pleasant :)

Today I have the sprinkler fellows coming to repair one of the heads. I would normally do it myself but this one is in a difficult spot and I'd prefer to have the experts do it the once and the right way.

Then I'll be looking at a day of puttering. Lots of weeding to do. I will also be cleaning and using thinner on a patch of the driveway. A couple of years ago I had a company re-coat the patterned concrete with clearcote that also had lots of shark grip to make it non slip. Unfortunately, I believe they put far too thick a coat of the stuff on and it is all starting too look like I have spread waxed paper out there. And, of course, I
had to wait for a dry day to try this. Hopefully it won't be too humid either.:fingers crossed:

Have a cool day and play safe please :)

                      Aloha everyone,

It's a nice cool 51F and sunny. I closed up the greenhouse yesterday evening so shall open it again as soon as the sun has warmed it up - should be alright in about half an hour. :blue thumb:

I got my hair cut yesterday so am feeling a bit light headed. :heehee: Barry enjoyed his lunch and he chose something different this time. He had liver and bacon with mash and onion gravy, followed by plum tart and cream. :blue thumb: I wasn't far out with my guess of his age as he's now 49. The forms from the DWP were actually good ones. They want to look into whether they may owe him some benefits going back six years. I won't hold my breath over it but I've completed all the forms and sent them off.

I'll get some gardening done today and I have loads to do in my office. I'll also chase up the car that I ordered in January :hate-shocked:

Keep well and have a great day

                      Aloha!

                        Good day,
@shiney I'm glad to hear that the forms might bring a little good fortune to Barry. I usually do not like receiving those brown envelopes from our government. As soon as I see it in my mail, I think "what now?".

It looks like bright skies today and the ground is still well soaked from the last rain we had. My sprinkler system is now fixed at the cost of a heart palpitating $469. It is ready to use even though it is now not needed

I hope everyone has a pleasant day and do please play safe :)

It's pretty cold out there at the moment after the very clear and twinkly night, but the sun is shining brightly.

                              Good day,
We have clear skies and moderate temperatures today.

I opened up the windows yesterday morning and am enjoying another fresh morning.

I am about to start lining some bakinng pans with parchment in preparation for Christmas cake baking. I've been soaking the currants, raisins, etc for the last 36 hours in fruit juice and brandy. I've also got pastry ready to make butter tarts. It is so nice to not have to worry about heating the house up whilst using the oven.

Have a super day everyone and please play safe. :)

Oops.. didn't hit the reply button sharp enough.... now I have all of the above baking done... :)
