Yawn yawn, wakey wakey Winter 2019 CLOSED

Good day everyone. It's been a busy few months but I decided to slow myself down by attending just this one forum and already things feel calmer

Everything is getting coated with a lovely layer of snow. Our weather guessers are telling us that it will be below freezing day and night for at least the next 10 weeks. We might get a few days that are a little warmer but the ground won't be thawing for 12 weeks. Oh well, got seeds started and will have to be content with that level of gardening.

I just got a call from the eye guy. I have an appointment Friday to see when they can operate. I'm pretty sure this is one of those that can get you in quickly as long as you are coming with a wad of money in your fist which I am not prepared to do. Therefor, I may be hearing that the wait will be 9 months or something like that but I am happy to be at the least getting on the waiting list.

Oh my gosh @shiney those accidents sound awful, really hope all the people were OK. Really happy to know that you and Mrs Shiney weren't more involved than you were !!!

We've enjoyed the first day of rain in a long time too.

Certainly know what you mean......I am definitely feeling calmer these days too!

Sounds like you're in for a definite cold spell!! Makes me sound a right wimp moaning about our -3 nights let alone the odd -4 ones!!


It will be such a shame that you may have a bit of a long wait for your eye operation, but as you said at least you will actually be ON the list!

The white stuff arrived here this morning...thankfully the sun then put his hat on, white stuff has almost gone. It’s very cold, we have the most awful chilly wind, it literally cuts right through you.

Not much else to report.

Thanks @moyra ,I'm fine...just hate feeling lethargic and incapacitated that's all really ....definitely not a good patient ! Sorry to hear that you and Amber got a soaking this morning.

Late because I have been hounding BT to get my Dad's phone fixed, it's been down for 11 days now!! Threatened to go to the local radio and TV!! So awful ,he was even , apparently, on their ' high priority list'!!! He's 93, very frail and lives alone ( stubbornly won't move!)...can't believe the treatment he's received from them!! . I even joined the BT forum and had a good old moan on there too!!...nothing like public humiliation!!

Good news is that they have suddenly turned up.....might have been on their books .....or perhaps they didn't fancy being on South Today's news tonight....Hmmmm!! Not that it is actually up and working yet though.

Anyway it's a gorgeous day here..wall to wall sunshine....lovely but freezing!
