I have not been successful with composting
It never gets hot, eventually breaks down more to a sluge than fine compost

Following help on here, and the addition of some mature horse manure filled with worms, and an old carpet on top It seems to be working

I churned up what I had up to the time, then added HM turned it in, then the only brown was clean brown cardboards and news papers, layered that on top, chuck kitchen waste in daily, then grass cuttings, top off with newspaper and so on

Went to put some kitchen waste in today, and I know outside is 1c but it was steaming, and under the carpet WARM warmer than outside anyways

    SO here hoping

Thanks all for your past advice

Fab! When the Ruskies cut the pipleline you can even go and sleep on it at nights.

Now you've got that massive team of bacteria and fungi working for you the next batches will be quicker. At least, that's what I've found.

With the Autumn prunings to compost I started with fresh horse muck/straw and the 4ft open bin is now full and steaming nicely.
