Ok I have Prodrive Springs in my Subaru. They lower the car by about 50mm at the front and 25mm at the back. They provide more responsive steering, better ride quality at speed and reduce body roll in spirited cornering. Before and after in my previous Prodrive/subaru Car They are blue in WRX type Imprezas... And red in STi type Imprezas... And Black as the standard subaru part...
BM how about doing a thread on how to wash and polish a car as I have started cleaning mine myself but I never know the correct order of doing things and I have no idea on how to make Myrtle as nice and as shiney as your cars.Mr Kandy usually washes the cars while I am indoors getting the sunday dinner cooked. :D
I made a couple of videos for YouTube but I might well do a GC version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQOOht4_elg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZWjGyr8Wik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK_grKOLqtY
Oh no BM, please don`t do this to us, I only clean my car when going on holiday. Please, please I implore you, let me get through the winter without getting chapped hands.
BM - i'm never sure how to take you. are you really into cars? (that is a serious question). Your pics remind me of my ex. he was into them too & the house would be nicely decorated with engines in various stages, wheels, and yes the dreaded springs :D so i do know a little about them. Do you remember the Vauxhall Cresta? My ex had one that he spent loads of time & money on and it was actually a 'street legal' racer. we used to go to Santa Pod with it. cheers
Santa Pod,that's not far from my favourite plant nursery. :D BM after you have done the lance treatment I assume you have to manually dry the car with a chammie leather or do you have to buff it up with anything else.Sorry to be blonde but I would like to learn how to do the job properly if I am going to do it :D
Kandy, car washes round here at the garages are about £3 for a 'delux'. Dont' do it yourself :D Unless you have a soft-top which i'm told doesn't like the brushes! Our local wash seems to have improved for some reason. we took the car in a couple of weeks ago cos you couldn't actually see the colour of it for all the berries from the tree we park under - we do that on purpose , and of course all the lovely presents from the birds that sit in the tree. it really was a disgrace, but we put it through the wash thinking it would help a bit but it actually came out clean! at the moment we have a van taking the main pelting, but the berries are just about finished so probably won't put the car through for another 6 months  I used to enjoy SP, Kandy. Do you ever go? Is it still going actually, cos i'm up north now so don't know!! Cheers
I am sad for your car :( Car washes do nothing but clean with added grit ! I bet under lighting your car looks like this with loads of micro marring and swirls left by inadequately lubricated paintwork during the washing process :( Most people don't notice this on their own cars, infact some think its supposed to be like that Depends on your level of OCD, my OCD won't let me do anything other than a perfect job. borrowers you might not know that me and Nathan are Scooby nuts and own 'tweaked' motors. This is mine on a recent run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZgbDBiXomc
BM no need to panic,I don't use those car washers. The only ones I use are either Mr Kandy or the foreign imports down at our local Tesco's who charge me £10 for my little KA.I have only used them twice and they do a good job inside and out and coat the car inside with something that makes the steering wheel feel all slippery  I washed and hoovered Myrtle when I recently took her for her 1st service having done 4,000 odd miles in 12 months. She sparkled inside and out and then the garage had the cheek to offer to wash her which would probably cost me another £50  They spotted the nail I had embedded in my tyre though which they repaired Mr Kandy's sister suffers with OCD though the only thing she washes until they are raw are her hands.Everything else she can't bare to clean.I have the upmost sympathy for you Borrowers it was Mr Kandy that used to go to SP with his mates years ago and we often here them whenever we visit Poddington Nursery in the summer....
