    - and I agree with you guys. Just two days ago I said to Hubby that I think I would get one of these as they brighten dull days up, and we've been having enough dull days of late.

T'other half is terribly allergic to this plant. Took the St John's Wort tablets once and ended up at the doctor's with hands so fat he couldn't bend his fingers. He barely managed to drive himself there! So, bewarned and beware ...

thank you for the suggestions. it really look like st John's Wort!
I have "stolen it" from an abandoned yard. It was such a beautiful flower that i couldn't resist...
I manage to get a little of the root as well, and i hope to be able to grow it...

Some hypericums are really hard to get rid of and can be invasive. [IMG]

I don't mind if it is a bit on the invasive side...

Hypericum calycinum, I believe, is the one...!
Since it was a single flower of considerable size and looking absolutely gorgeous on the top of the stem. It was really "love at first sight"...
Somebody made me notice that the Hypericum perforatum is of much smaller size and the flowers are in groups.
I hope so much that it will generate some roots now!

here is me again, for the third time.
I can't contain my excitment as I believe I got some seeds from this beautiful flower.
It did dry eventually (I did put the stem in the soil a little while ago) but then the "dots" which are at the top of the filaments... it looks to me like they are seeds and I have just sprinkled them on the surface of the pot...

And here is me again, for the fourth time!
Nothing happened with the little root of Hypericum calycinum
[IMG] that I took last time, so I did it again this morning!
And again a little root came up -incredible how small and week for such a big bush- and I have now planted it and hope for the best!!
